CLIVE.

(Own Correspondent).

Never were the Napier “Frivs” heard to better advantage than on Monday evening, when they presented a spaiahng programme in tho Clive Public Hall to a crowded and highly appreciative audience. With tho opening orchestral number the audience was held captive and thence onwards the ‘‘Frivs” had a triumphal march, the last item sending away the folk wanting still more. At the piano, Miss Payne, an accomplished artist, was an inspiration to the orchestra, who gave ol their best to impart a fillip and! a swing to tho whole entertainment. To the company a very hearty vote o.f thanks was carried by acclamation, Mr. Morgan, a member of the School Committee. remarking that the “Frivs” came along willing every year to assist the school. The wives of committee members subsequently entertained the visitors to supper. To-night (Wednesday) a general meeting of all interested- will be held in the school to further arrangements in connection with the forthcoming school jubilee. The management wish it known that late entries will be received up to 2 p.m. on Thursday for the Progressive Society’s Spring Show.
