THE £100 GRAB
P. AND T. PROTEST. (Per Press Association.) Hawera, November 12. A meeting of the Hawera branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association last evening passed the following resolution; “This meeting of Post and Telegraph • officers emphatically protests against the action of members of Parliament in voting themselves £lOO while refusing to grant any increase to the rank and file officers of the service, numbers of whom up to 23 years of age are receiving less than £122 per annum, and message boys up to 18 years of age are receiving £57 per annum, and feels that thi a action is calculated to aggravate the already very real discontent in the service.
