FAREWELL AFTERNOON
The bridge circle of the Hastings Women’s Club invited a number of Napier bridge players to meet at the Chib on Wednesday, in honour of Mrs O’Meara, who has been so hospitable a bridge hostess, and who leaves soon for England. Players were seated in the largest club room, and in the adjoining room other members who wished to meet Mrs O’Meara gathered for tea and conversation. Mrs O’Meara was wearing a navy blue crepe-de-chine dress, with graduated banns of beige crepe-de-chine on the sleeves, and skirt. Ptetty bright asters were in bowls on the tables. Some of those present were:—Mrs H. Stratton, Mrs A. Small. Mrs Curl°tt, Mrs Krogh, Mrs J. Harris. Mrs F. von Dadelszcn. Mrs Lloyd. Mrs .Tohnson, Mrs McCaw Mrs LovellSmith. Mrs Waterworth. Mrs G. McLeod. Mrs Nat Beamish, Mrs Shand, Mrs Cunningham. Mrs Foote. Miss Evans, Miss F. G. Mc T «od. Mrs Hogg Mrs J. N. Smith, Mrs Budd, Mrs Morris Mrs Cuming. From Napier came Mrs Stewart, Mrs Herbert, Mrs Edwards, Mrs Wilson. Mrs Hislon. Mrs leathern, Mrs Herrick Tonkin. Mrs Edwards (Western Australia), and Miss Small. First prize was won hv Mr Herrick Tonkin, end Mrs Edwards was awarded second prize.
