VISIT TO GLASGOW
BY OFFICIAL N.Z. PARTY. TRANSPORT DIFFICULTIES FOtf DOMINION PRODUCTS. (Australian Press Assn.-United Service.) (Received 2, 9.50 a.m.) London, March 1. Sir James Parr, with an official New Zealand party, visited Glasgow in connection with the campaign to push New Zealand produce. They were tendered a luncheon by the Lord Provost and were the guests of the Clyde Navigation Trust for the whole day in an inspection of the docks and shipyards. They saw tho Rangitata being built at Messrs John Brown’s yards and had a conference with merchants on the matter of more frequent direct shipments. Sir James, at the Trust luncheon, made an appeal that New Zealand pro ducts be given a trial on their merits. During a tour of the leading stores the fact was emphasised that the chief obstacle was that most steamers made their first call at London, and that consequently their date of arrival at Glasgow was uncertain.
