CORNWALL PARK
ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS ' AUTHORISED.
A visit was recently made by the Reserves Committee o tho Hastings Borough Council to Cornwall Park where a conference with the archi tect, Mr Davies, was held, and matters relating to the construction of the tea kiosk discussed.
The architect pointed out that he had not yet passed the building as there were certain matters to be attended to before be would recommend the acceptance of the building from the contractor. The Reserves Committee recom mended that, six seats bo purchased, to bo placed on tho verandah of tho tea kiosk; That a rock garden be formed outside the kiosk on the south cm, western and northern sides; That a bicycle stand be erected in tho south-eastern corner; That the use of gas rings, which were now out of order, bo discontinued, and that the shod bo used for the storage of feed for the birds and animal?; and that a three-inch well be sunk on tho area where the old band stand recently stood. The Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, explained that this would complete the layout of this particular part of tho Park. Run-a-ways of water would be made from tho well to different parts of the ereek. It. would also allow the damming up of the water and tho irrigation of a largo part of the Park, particularly if agricultural drains were made. Tho crook was in need of additional water supply and the sinking of the well should meet this need.
The iTcommcnil-'ilions were agreed iu by the council.
