There was excellent waer pressure and other arrangemets. At the midday adjournment the following were the leading teams in the various events:— One-man coupling, Gilbert Afemorial (16 teams having run.) —Addington Railway, 65 4-5 secs (three v'nalties) 68 4-5 secs; Gore 74 secs. Two-men hose and standpipe event (17 teams having run): Petone 37 2-5 secs, Greymouth and Pukckohe 43 3-5 secs each, equal. Five-men hose, reel and ladder event (modern), eleven teams having run): Hawera 41 1-5 secs, Te Kuiti and Addington Railway each 45 secs.
