N.Z. MILLIONAIRE INVENTOR
TWO DAUGHTERS IN HASTINGS. The Mr. Ernest R. Godward, the New Zealand millionaire inventor (an account of whose gas invention was published in the “Tribune” last evening), now resident in New York, has vital interests in Hastings. It has transpired that two of his daughters are residents of the town, ono of whom is the wife of Mr. Alan Grant, chemist, who has just taken over Mr. E. C Woodward’s business, whilst the other is Miss Godward, who is on a visit to her sister, Mrs Grant.
Mr. Godward was a resident of Invercargill where he carried on business for many years, and completion of his invention of Godward’s Gas Generator was the achievement of his life’s work. He has n family of ten—three gons and seven daughters.
