MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. QUESTION OF N.Z. HARDWOODS The monthly meeting of tho executive of the Hawke’s Bay A. & P. Society was hold at the Tomoana Showgrounds this morning, when Mr. R. H. Tod presided. Regarding the tests made with New Zealand hardwoods suitable for newsprint publication, the Commissioner of State Forests wrote advising that though the tests were carried out in America, that country received no monetary gain. The only benefit gained was that if the New Zealand woods proved successful, then there were similar hardwoods in America that could bo used with the knowledge derived from the New Zealand tests.—Received.
The hon. secretary of tho Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union wrote asking tho Society to reinstate the fancy butter class in the autumn schedule. If this was done the members of the division would be pleased to donate a prize of two guineas for the class. —The question was refcrerd to the revision committee.
Tho secretary of the Centray H.B. Industrial Rabbit Association wrote recommending conditions for classes in tho rabbit section.—Referred to tho revision committee.
Tho following new members w-erc appointed:—Messrs. W. R. Paterson (Napier), Geo. Ireland (Havelock North), P. T. Smith (Clive), R. McCarthy (Haumoana) and C. M. White (Opapa).
