CYCLONES IN THE PACIFIC VESSEL IN HEAVY GALE. NATIVE CUTTER SINKS OUTSIDE SUVA HARBOUR. [United Press Association—By Cable— Copyrlgbt.) (Australian and N.Z. Press AMOfliatlonJ (Received 22, 11.55 a.m.) Suva, Jan. 22. For the last two days cyclonic conditions have prevailed in the Pacific Yesterday a cyclone was approaching Fiji from the New Hebrides. The barometer is still falling but it is now believed that the centre of the storm will pass south of Fiji and' will not affect the colony. The Clan MacKinley, from Noumea en route to Suva, is in a heavy gale close to Fiji. She was due at Suva yesterday. A native cutter is reported to have sunk outside Suva harbour this morning. The Moeraki has gone to the rescue of the crew.
