KaHURANAKI r"eBEKAH LODGE NO. 37. The usual meeting of the above lodge was held last Thursday evening in the Lancaster Hall, Sister Hodgson presiding over a good attendance of members. A motion of condolence was carried in silence, and sympathy passed to Bro. L. Wyatt who had recently been bereaved of his father. Correspondence was received from the District Returning Officer intimating that Bro. T. A. Williams. D.D.G.M., had been elected Grand Lodge Representative for the 1929 to 1931 period. The picnic committee of Karamu Lodge reported having selected a site at Undercliff for the annunl outing. Fraternal greetings were received from Rua Tamaki Lodge No. 105. Two new Rebekah Lodges have been opened recently, viz., Rangi Rebekah Lodge No. 64 nt Rotorua and Alpine Rebekah Lodge No. 65 at Te Kopuru. KARAMU LODGE NO. 47. At the recent meeting of the above Lodge, Bro. C. W. Robertson presided over a good attendance of members. Two candidates were proposed for membership, and one friend was elected to become a member. In regard to the annual picnic which is to be held on February 17th a strong committee was set up and everything points to the annual outing being a success. Haeremai Lodge No. 148 at Kumeu had been opened in December. Veterans Jewels had been obtained for Brothers F. Wilkinson. Grand Secretary, W. E. Cairn and F. Humni; also one for Sister M. Kilpatrick. The District Grand Committee will meet on the next meeting night of this Lodge for the purnose of electing a District Deputy Grand Master for the Hawke’s Bay district for the next two years. HERETAUNGA ENCAMPMENT NO. 10. The usual meeting of the above encampment was held last Friday evening in the Lancaster Hall, Bro. Graham. Chief Patriarch, presiding over a good attendance of members. Correspondence was received from Gisborne Camp No. 8. and Pukekoe Camp No. 6 conveying fraternal greetings. Bro. Garrick was granted leave of absence. It was decided that the meetings be held every fourth Tuesday in the month. Two candidates were initiated into the first degree. Thanks are due to Bros. Meyrick, H. K. Heaton and R. Otene for furniture supplied, also to Bro. S. R. Goss for bonk. A petition to Grand Lodge of Australasia praying that a Grand Encampment Lodge be constituted in New Zealand was signed h v the Chief Patriarch and the Scribe and is to be forwarded to Bro. M. Hooper. D.D.G.S. After the meeting closed a pleasant halfhour was spent at the supper table
