Old Boys defeated Eparaima on the first innings on Saturday, giving them a one-point lead in the championship. In reply to Eparaima’s 113 the ex-eollegians made 60 (Guy 15 and Polhil! 14). Canning took five f6r 26, Wilder four for 18. and Brierley one for nine,. fn the second innings Eparaima declared with six for 84 (Padbury 34 Brierley 25, A. SWilder 1§). Old Boys' howlers were Southall (two for 20j_, Gair (one for 12), Smalea (one for 6), and Wilson
(one for 10). With 138 to get in 95 minutes Old Boys made a good attempt, having put on 115 for the loss of five wickets (Spencer 48. McCarthy 27, Guy 10, and PoUjill 10 not out). The Eparaima bowlers were A, S. Wilder (two for 28), Padbury (one for 12), Brierley (one for 29), and Canning (one for 32L.
