MISSING TRAMPERS

AERIAL SEARCH RESULTLESS. [Per Press Association.! Wellington. Jan. 21. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. T. M. Wilford, announced to-day that he had received advice that two 'planes from Christchurch conducted a further search on Saturday for tile missing [tampers. Park and Morpeth. The search was without result, hazy conditions making anything but vertical observation difficult. The Minister stated that he had expressed appreciation of the actions of the airmen, who had done everything that was necessary and he h.-n advised them that further risks were not to be taken.

An earlier message from Hokitika stated: On Saturday and yesterday searchers for the missing lads who were lost in the high country returned without traces being found. The Arahura river and sea beach are now under close observation. The ages of Park and Morpeth arc 19 and 18 respectively, not as given previously, and both are familiar with camping-out conditions.
