BRITISH NAVY

ESTIMATES FOR 1929-30. [Australian and N.Z. Pies. Association.) (United Press Association—By CableCopyright.] (Received 21, 12.30 p.m.) London, Jan. 20. The "Daily Telegraph’’ says: “The Navy estimates for 1929-30 are settled. The outlines show little variations. The £57,300,000 for the current year’s programme includes one 10,000, two 8400 ton cruisers, one flotilla leader, eight destroyers and six submarines. The introduction of another long term programme is not likely in view of possible reductions resulting from the 1931 Washington Conferen-e. Naval circles do not anticipate further cuts, as the current five-year programme is already reduced by three large cruisers.’’
