KARAMU LODGE NO. 47. The usual fortnightly meeting of the above lodge was held on Thursday evening in the Lancaster Hall, Bro. A. T. Garrick presiding over a good attendance of members. A motion of condolence was passed to Bro. P. Winitana who had recently lost his wife. Several members were reported sick and the visiting committee reported having visited Napier Hospital and Pukeora Sanatorium. Two candidates were proposed and two were elected to become members. The Returning Officer notified that the election of Grand Lodge Representative would be neld on December 13th. The Christmas tree committee reported that the toys were on hand and also that the hall had been engaged for 21st instant. The first ordinary meeting of the encampment is to be held on Friday. Devember 7, when routine business only will be transacted. Fraternal greetings were received from Maranui Lodge, also Gisborne and Paritutu Lodges. Bro. R. Otene reported having received a cordial welcome from the Lodge he had visited in the Taranaki district.
