NEWS AND NOTES. Great interest is being taken In the Town Board election, which will lake place next week. It is rumoured that there will be quite a number of nominees. The last of the series of euchre tournaments was held in the Fire Station last evening, but, owing to the bad weather, the attendance was not up to the usual standard. The winners of the tournament were Miss A. Bee and Mr J. Murphy. Next week the ‘‘soo” tournament will commence. i Mrs A. Fraser, who recently (Jnve up business in Havelock North, was entertained by the ladies of the Croquet Chib on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs W. A. Meads. Napier road. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent listening to the wireless, and the guest of the afternoon was presented with a beautiful cushion. In the Havelock North Fire Brigade’s annual report, as published yesterday, it was stated that the 300 feet of hose now on order would bring the total connected length to 900. feet. This was an error, the total length will then be 1200 feet.
