PAKI PAKI.

(Own Correspondent.) A “500” evening was held last Friday, when there was a fair attendance. A most enjoyable time was spent, the first prizes being won by Mr. Wilson and Miss Blackett. The consolation prizes went to Miss Gladys Taylor and Mr. L. Paton. Cards were followed by a delightful supper, after which the floor was cleared for dancing. The next evening will see a continuance of the series of euchre tournaments. Quite a number are in a favourable position for winning the aggregate prize, and a keen competition is anticipated. The School Committee held its usual meeting in the schoolhouse on Monday evening. Present: Messrs Anderson (chairman), Caskey, Humkins, Barclay, and the headmaster. Accounts amounting to £9 10/- were passed for payment and many details in connection with the school received attention.
