TRIED RECIPE
1 * A DELICIOUS GINGERBREAD. Have ready 5 teacups flour, 1 teacup each of dripping, sugar and treacle, 1 dessertspoon of ground ginger and an equal amount of mixed spice, 1 breakfast cup of milk, 1 teaspoon carbonate of soda, 1 dessertspoon of vinegar, and i cup chopped almonds and raisins if liked. Warm the dripping, treacle and sugar in a basin and beat well together; dissolve soda in the warmed milk; mix ginger and spice with the flour and stir into the mixture in the basin; then pour in milk gradually and beat all well together. Add almonds and raisins and last of all put in the vinegar. Beat again and pour, into a flat buttered tin. Bake in a very slow oven for about half an hour or linger.
