HAWKE’S BAY CHAMPIONSHIPS LADIES’ AND MEN’S DECIDED. A strong wind made shooting conditions difficult at the championship meeting on Saturday at the Monte Carlo grounds, In the Hnwke’s Bav championship. 1). M. Campbel] and F. L. Joblin tied with 21 birds, _ the total, M. Pearson and Geo. Tait, bringing down 20. D Al. Campbell and F L. Joblin shot off five birds to decide the championship, but divided the first and second money. Campbell proved the winner with four birds and Joblin

runner-up with three, the result being very popular.. Geo. Tait and Al. Pearson divided third money An open £lO handicap and medal for the best novice, was then fired. Al. Pearson, with all his birds accounted for. won first money, and A. Dobson ■ and N. McGaffin divided second and third. The medal for the best novice performance presented bv the C’.A.C. was won by N. McGaffin (12 yards), with 14 breaks out of 15. The Foreman Rose Bowl, for the champion lady shooter, wa® then competed for. The winner proved to bo Miss B. McKinnon, with fonr breaks out of five, and tlie runner-up Miss H. Holt-. In presenting the trophies Mr. Dobson congratulated the ladies for facing the traps and the splendid wav in which they all shot. He nlso complimented the club on their having instituted ladies’ shoot.r.p.
