GENERAL NEWS. St. Luke's Church School. Havelock North, held a very successful sale of work yesterday afternoon in the Village Hall. There was a large assort nient of goods for sale, which found ready purchasers, the amount realised being £37, with more to come in. Those taking part were:—Produce stall. Mesdames Rush and Bodley; cake’ stall. Mesdames Ferguson and Frost; novelty stall. Mrs Greenwood; book stall. Miss Greenwood; jumble stall, Mrs W. Meads, Mrs Cook, Mrs, Falconer and Mrs Leicester. Afternoon tea, Mesdames Clifton, C. Meads H. Liley, Redpath and W. Taylor; sweet stall, Standard VI. girls; brantub. Standard V. girls; quoits, Master L. Meads. A largo and enthusiastic meeting of ladies interested in the holding of n Fire Brigade Bazaar in the Village Hull. Havelock North, on Wednesday. July'4, was held in the Fire Station last night. The object of the proposed bazaar is to raise money to pay off the mortgage of £2OO, still remaining on the building. Recently the brigade bought some hose, etc., to fur ther improve their equipment, and it is hoped the bazaar will result in the brigade being able to pay off at least half, if not the "’hole, of the indebtedness. Anything of a saleable nature will be thankfully received by the committee, who are working hard for this desirable object. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Luke’s Church. Havelock N., will be hold in tho Village Hall, tonight at 7.30. the business being to elect a vestry and church officers, for the ensuing year, to receive the bal-ance-sheet, report, etc.
