PRESENTATION TO MR BARNSDALE

O.n Friday last a pleasant little supper and presentation took plaoe at Mrs Bark’s Tea Rooms, which were kindly lent for the occasion, when the members of St. Matthew’s choir, after the usual practice assembled to say good-bye to Mr R. Barnsdale, who for the last five vears has been a valuable member. The vicar, in a happy little speech said how much the cfiurch wquld miss Mr Barnsdale’s services, for he attended practices and services so regularly, and at the same time represented the choir on the vestry In asking the guest to accept the choir’s farewell gift—engraved inkstand and fountain pen—the vicar hoped he would live long to use them and that they would serve to remind him of five years’ happy service m St. Matthew’s. Hastings, Mr Spinney added his measure of praise, and hoped Mr Barnsdale would get into harness again directly hp arrived in Gisborne where his services would be welcome to all musical societies, as well as to rhe church choir.
