A very successful dance organised by Mrs awohi was fund in the local hall on Wednesday evening. There was a targe attendance and the music was by the \\ aimarama orchestra. A serious outbreak of whooping cough and mumps is at present affecting this district. A large num her oi the children are ill and the attendance at the school is very low.
The usual fortnightly social and dance will be held in the school this (Tuesday) evening. Good prizes are offered for the euchre and a Monte Carlo waltz will be a feature of the evening. Supper will be provided by the ladies’ committee.
