PARKVALE SCHOOL
FIRST ANNUAL BALL A BRILLIANT PICTURE. The first annual plain and fancy dress children’s ball in connection with the Parkvale School was held at the Hastings Assembly Hall last night, when the hall was gaily decorated for the occasion and certainly the slogan displayed in golden characters over the stage “May thia the best night ever,” was fully carried out by the children, who let themselves go in full enjoyment of the reunion. The fancy dresses were varied and convincing, making a brilliant moving picture in the Grand March, which stepped off with Kitty Milne and Tom Young, Jean Smith and William Heffernan, Doris Cox and Marrow Hawthorne, Julia Hollis and Ivan Hill, the intermingling of the costumes in the intricacies of the movements forming a delightful spectacle. Mr. Day, Mr. Roscoe and other members of the teaching staff supervised the dancing, whilat the children were regaled with a generoua and temping supper, supplied by the parents and supervised by t!» ladies’ committee LIST OF DRESSES.
