ENGINEER’S DISPUTE
WEEKLY EMPLOYMENT PREFERRED. ARBITRATION COURT HEARING. Sydney, Aug. 24. With the resumption of work by the engineers, the Arbitration Court has commenced hearing the application for variation of the engineers’ award by the deletion of one clause and the substitution therefor of a clause providing for employment by the week. Th 9 applicants also ask for provision that employment be terminated only by one week’s notice on either side. Judge Beeby threatened to suspend the hearing of the case if the men continued to absent themselves.
