RIFLE SHOOTING.

OKAWA DEFENCE CLUB. The winter shoots which the above club have been holding during the winter months for a trophy donated by the vice-president are now drawing to an end, and only two more matches remain to be fired. The attendances at the past meetings have been very good and it is most gratifying to the committee to have the riflemen co-operate and help to make the series such a success. Excitement at present is running very high as after three matches there are a number of riflemen within a point or two of one another for the leading position. Veteran Rifleman Frank Humphreys is at present leading with Riflemen Palmer and Rivets running hint very closely. The following is a list of the leading scores at the conclusion of the third round :—Riflemen F. E. Humphreys 260, C. R. Palmer 257, E. E. Rivers .256, R. T. Cleary 253, F. J. Hallagan 249, J. L. Mathewson 247, F. T. White 246. The fourth round will be fired over the week-end over ranges 600 and 700 yards, 10 shots and two sighters. The following are the handicaps:--W. J. Green. F. E.
