Lnder the Fungicides and' Insecti cides Bill introduced into the House of Representatives yesterday, the Governor-General is empowered to make regulations prescribing the standard of strength the uualitv or quantity of anv fungicide, insecticide, or weed-killer, or of anv ingredient or component part. The regulations mav deal with the mode of labelling and the registration of vendors of fungicides, insecticides or weed-killers, and the method of taking samples, and may require sales to be made under distinctive brands. The bill a number of machinery clauses dealing with the appointment and powers of inspectors.. and a penalty of £5O mav be imposed on anv person who sells anv fungicide, insecticide or weed-killer which is below the standard of efficiency claimed for it.
