INTERNATIONAL CONTESTS. GERMANY BEATS FRANCE. Paris, Aug. 21. German athletes defeated the French at the Colombcs 1 stadium by 89 points to 62. Kohn (Germany) won trie 3000 metres in 903 seconds, a record. The German relay team (Schmidt, Neumann, Stor and Pcltzer), running 400 metres each won in 198 2-5 seconds, also a record. Martin (France; won the 800 metres in 113 l-ssecs, beating Peltzer, and Semp (France) won the 110 m--tres hurdles in 16 1-asecs. Trossba 8 (Germany) was second.
