J. T. FAWCETT Hastings, 16/8/27.

JUBII.EE BLIND INSTITUTE. (To the Editor.) Sir, —A short tune ago I handed over to the Jubilee Blind Institute the sum of £B5, being the proceeds from the sale of - booklet I had published. I received a note of thanks from the Blind Institute; also an announcement appeared in the daily papers to the effect that the above

sum had been received. Since the announcement 1 have had many enquiries as to the nature of the booklet, the title and the price. I feel that in response to the«e enquiries it would be wise to state through the medium of your valuable journal the following particulars:— The title of the booklet is “The World’s Greatest Power—Woman.” The contents are character desori p tions of the various women of die principal countries of the world. It is printed on very superior paper and interspersed therein are characteristic photographs of the women of the different nations. The price is U 6 and the whole of the proceeds of the first edition is to be devoted to the blind of New Zealand. There are still out booklets to the value of £5OO and when the price 2/6 has been returned for each one of these it will make a sum of close on £6OO for the object In many instances the charity of the purchasers of the booklet has not been limited to 2/6. Many have been most generous in their contributions, 5/-, 10/- and even 20/- having been forwarded. I have handed over to the Jubilee Institute the names of those who have received the booklet and they will ask them to kindly remit the amount direct to the Institute. as agreed hv me. Also any others desirous of helping can purchase a copy of this booklet for 2/6 by applying or sending the amount to the Jubilee Blind Institute, Auckland. when a booklet will be posted Thus it will be satisfactory for those who have contributed to this great work of chnritv to know that the whole of the funds has been received by the Blind Institute and the cost has been borne by myself. Also I may state that thia booklet has been circulated in many centres throughout New Zealand. Therefore it will be interesting for them to know the results.—Yours etc.,
