SASKATCHEWAN WHEAT CROP
REPORT OF DAMAGE NOT CONFIRMED. (Received 20, 1.35 p.m.) Vancouver, Aug. 19. Winnipeg reports that steady sunshine on the prairies is dissipating fears of frost damage to wheat, and cutting is generally resumed. Scores of correspondents’ reports indicate the Chicago estimate of damage by frost in Saskatchewan as ope-fifth of the total crop is not confirmed. The losses due to frost and rust are actually confined to a few scattered fields in Saskatchwan and Manitoba. —(A. and N.Z.)
