A FAREWELL EVENING.
One of the merriest of evenings was given this week by Mr. and Mrs. Budd at their home in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Banisdale. The rooms looked very festive with long branches of tree buttercups arranged with artistic effect. Mrs. Budd, who is an ideal hostess, received her guests wearing a smart black frock with a shawl of pastel tint, and her tact and brightness helped all to have a most amusing and entertaining evening. Mrs. Barnsdale was frocked in rose taffetas, with pretty ruched trimmings of the same material.
Competitions were engaged in with zest, the prizes going to Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Baird, Miss Evans, and Mr. Barnsdale. Musical items were greatly enjoyed. These were contributed by Mrs Budd, Mrs. O’Meara, Mrs. Stratton, and Mr. Barnsdale and delightful Scotch recitations were given by Mrs. Baird. A delicious slipper was enlivened by games which kept all the guests very merry. Some of those present were Mr. and Mrs. Barnsdale. Mr. and Mrs. Hull, Mr. and Mrs. Jackson. Mr and Mrs. O'Meara, Mr. and Mrs. Stratton. Mr. and Mrs. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Baird. Miss Evans, Mrs. Small. Mrs. Shand, Mrs. Cunningham, and others.
