The sudden popularity of electric hare and greyhound -racing in England is leading to extraordinary developments. Thirty companies have been formed in London and the large cities in Britain with a total capital of £1,000,000. At meetings in White City and Earl’s Court the attendances were 90,01X1 and the gross takings there average £15,000 weekly. The new sport has resulted in a boom in shares in dogs. Some £1 shares are now worth £lO. A dog worth £lO a. few months ago was sold for £350. Any sort of greyhound pup now has a high market vata*.
