FIRE IN NAPIER
FURNITURE AND WORKSHOP BADLY DAMAGED MR. R. LEE’S SEVERE LOSS. An outbreak of nre was discovered aoout 10 o'clock last night in Mr. Robert Lee's workshop in Dickens street, Napier. Serious loss was sustained by Mr. Lee, as his large stock of newly-made furniture was badly damaged, and his shop also suffered severely. By the time the brigade arrived the dames had secured a good hold, having spread apparently from the ground door, where the machinery wa s situated, to the workshop above, which contained many oak sideboards, oak wardrobes and other furniture, all betng completed ready for moving into the shop. With several leads f water playing on to the flames the brigade soon had them under control, saving the building from being en. tirely destroyed. Both the building and plant were covered by insurance, but the amount falls far short of repaying Mr. Lee for the loss he has sustained.
