Purton (Greymouth), 7.9, beat F. Pearcy (Auckland) 7.4. The bout was a really scientific exhibition of boxing. N. Roebuck (Taranaki) 7.9, beat C. Thuine (Wellington), 7.8, on points. Feather-weights—G. Adams (Wellington) defaulted to T. Donovan (Taranaki); W. G. Leckie (Otago), 8.12, knocked out G. Steel (Southland), 9.0, in the third round. Light-weights: A. Jones (Southland), 9.8, gained a technical knockout o ve r T. Slattery (Auckland), 9.10, in the third round. Welter-weights; E. Armishaw (Auckland), 10.7, beat P. J. Stone (Wellington), 10.3, on. points; S. Hughes (Otago), 10.6, beat D. Richardson (North Otago), 10.7, on points; P. Jaggers (Christchurch), 10.1, beat L. W. Gee (Bay of Plenty) 10.4, on points. This was one of the best bouts ot the night, Jaggers winning in a masterly tashion. Middle-weights: C. Pocock (Christchurch), 11-2, beat J. Hepburn (Hawke's Bay), 11.3; H. Cotter (Greymouth), 10.13, beat R. Anderson (Otago), 11.0, on points; Pocock (Christchurch), 11.2, beat A. Dickson (Southland), 11.3, on points. Light heavy-weights: A. J. Cleverly (Wellington), 11.7, beat F. Shirmanski (Christchurch), 11.11, on points; C Hogg (Auckland), 11.7, knocked out G. Spencer (Bluff), 11.11, in the second round; J. Hepburn (Hawke’s Bay) defaulted to A. Cleverly (Wellington). Heavy-weights: J. G. Leckie (Otago), 12-9, beat P. McCarthy (Auckland), 12.8. McCarthy was on the verge of a knock-out several times during the bout.
