BOWLING.
COMPETITION SYSTEM. NEW SCHEME TO BE TRIED. Wellington, Aug. 17. Like other sports bowling has been in difficulties over the competition system. Several schemes have been tried, but none of these have been very successful, and the bowling centre has now determined to adopt a plan based on that in Auckland, which, it is said, has given satisfaction. The clubs will be divided in eight groups each, to consist of 22 rinksA number of other propositions were defeated or withdrawn. The discussion indicated that some of the clubs will not take part in the new scheme.
