AMALGAMATION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —It is apparent that the residents of Taradale and Greenmeadows do not fully realise the splendid situation they possess in their suburban area. Nature has handsomely endowed Greenmeadows with beautiful hills and flatsfibundance of artesian water complete shelter from cold winds and rich fertile land. Taradale is equally forunate in being a choice residental area. It is a distinct advantage from a health point of view that neither Greenmeadows or Taradale have to reclaim any land to provide building sites, it is therefore a step in the right direction for Taradale and Greenmeadows to join hands and pool their interests. On the principle that unity is strength. Considering the splendid suburban area that is provided within a distance of a -few miles by the inclusion of Greenmeadows and Taradale, Napier is embarking on a senseless waste of money in reclaiming a dismal waste of swamp when hundreds of acres of dry Is nJ are available within a few miles of their town. —I am, etc., ESTONIA. Hastings, 16/8/27.
