THE FERNHILL ROAD.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l read with' interest “A.B.G’s” letter in regard to the cheap and nasty footpath to the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. But what about the road? If Mr Crosse had kept his promise which he made to the ratepayers through your paper when again asking for support at the last county election, we would long ago have had a bitumen road, like the one to Havelock, past the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. I believe we are going to get a tarsealed road some dav. and we will alien have a cheap and nasty road, as well as a footpath, to the Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. Surely it is not too late for Mr Crosse to keen his promise and put down a bitumen road this summer for the Raupare settlers, to whom he espwiallv made the promise, and then we would also have a road in keeping with the hospital. Thanking you. sir.—l am. etc., CHRIS LASSEN.
