NANKING GOVERNMENT RESIGNS. “NO MONEY, NO FIGHT.” Shanghai, Aug. 15. Practically ah the members of the Nanking Government resigned following Chiang Kai-shek, whose sudden return to Shanghai and departure for Ningpo was the outcome of a stormy conference of the Nanking military chiefs in which Chiang was openly defined by his erstwhile most trusted aides. These threatened to refuse to fight further unless arrears of wages were paid .n lhem«elves and to the troops.—(A rd N.Z.)
