Two youths, whose names were suppressed, plead'cd guilty at the Magistrate’s Court at Palmerston North yesterday to five indictable charges, ineluding three of arson, one of attempted train wrecking and one of cutting telephone wires. They were eoihmitted to the Supreme Court for sentence. In applying for the suppression of the names, the defending counsel intimated that both lads were subnormal mentally, although not of the class requiring detention at a mental hospital. The parents of both lads had done everything possible to help them. Neither eould keep a job more than a month and could not be taught anything. The same lads also appeared and pleaded guilty to several summary charges of theft and giving false alarms of fire.
