PROSPECTING FOR OIL
TARANAKI * GISBORNE BORES. Gisborne, Aug. 16. Taranaki Oilfields Limited reports that in Waiapu No. 2 well testing water was shut off on August 15. Gisborne No. 1 well is at a depth of 375 feet in sand and shale. It is caving in badly and they are now running 12) inch diameter casing into the bore.
