THE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.
"CHEAP AND NASTY” FOOTPATH. (To the Editor). Sir, — The concrete path leading to the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is a paltry affair. When the width of the telegraph posts is taken into consideration, the path will be only 3ft 6in. wide. It would be better if the County Council left this job undone, as, when finished, it -yi!' be an eyesore for all time. It goes without saying that the pedestrian traffic on the route from Hastings to the Hospital will be considerable, so that it is, therefore, necessary to provide a decent footpath and not the apology for one that is now being constructed, and which can only be described as cheap and nasty. The residents in the Stortford Lodge neighbourhood are very indignant with Mr. Crosse for authorising the construction of such a third-rate path to a Memorial Hospital which the whole district should be proud of. Yours, etc., A.B.G. Hastings, 15/8/27.
