STREET EXTENSIONS IN HASTINGS.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—ln the Hartings Borough Council matters, detailed in the "Tribune” on Friday evening, there was a report re the extension of Beresford street. That street has already three outlets. To extend a dead end lor about a couple of chains further—still to a dead end—in the hope that some future generation will carry it somewhere, is ridiculous. To <«rry a blind street on to an opening connecting another street is a different matter. There are some streets in Hastings mat certainly need that, but a dead end to a dead end is absurd, and would be a bad policy for any council to consider. It certainly should cause residents and ratepayers in all other blind streets to nave a say in it. We ratepayers find the money. —Yours etc., RATEPAYER.
