There was a large attendance at the last monthly meeting of the Mothers’ Institute, which was held in St. Peter’s Sunday School and presided over by Mrs Jas. Bibby. A demonstration in raffia work was given by Miss Smith and Mrs Blackic, and an interesting talk on “food values” given by Miss Jull. An amusing competition was held, in which Miss Smith was Ist and Mrs Jackson second. The hostesses for the afternoon were Miss Frame and Mesdames H. Fletcher Dwight. A concert and social was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday evening under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church and proved most enjoyable. The room was taxed, necessitating the Concert Hall being requisitioned for several competitions. Those contributing to the concert were Mrs Furminger Mrs Strang Miss Walker, Mr Barker, Betty 'Kingston, Jack’ Strang, Miss Joyce Kerr, Mr Holt, Miss Hodge, Mr J. Walker, and Miss Rust and Messrs Rust. I
