NEW GUINEA GOLD.
TWO MILLION SENT TO U.S.A. ADJUSTING BANK BALANCES. (Received 15, 1.40 p.m.) Sydney, Aug. 15. The Commonwealth Bank last week shipped to America £2,000,000 worth of gold, including £500,000 worth of new gold from the New Guinea fields. The shipment was made in order to adjust bank balances owing to imports being so much above the value of exports.
