TWENTY-FIFTH ANNUAL REPORT.
The annual report of the Hastings Starr-Bowkett Building Society states:—
Four appropriations were held during the year, two in No. 3 Issue and two in No. 4 Issue. In the No. 2 issue further dividends-of £4 10/per share were paid out, bringing the total dividends now paid by this Issue to £4l 10/-, or £2 10/- per share over and above the subscriptions paid in The total number of shares remaining on the register in this issue is 138 and the £874 18/1 still remaining to the credit of the Profit and Loss Account is equal to £6 6/9 per share, in the No. 3 issue there are 185 shares remaining on the register, of which 132 have re ceived appropriations, leaving 53 still to receive loans. The £1773 18/9 standing to the credit of the Profit and Loss Account represents £9 11/9 per share. In No. 4 Issue there are 419 shares now on the register. The Profit and Loss Account has a credit balance of £l6OB 11/3, which is equal to £2 12/10 per share, an increase of 12/11 on last year’s figures'. In this issue 91 shares have received appropriations. The actual appropriations made since the inception of the Society have been as follows:—By ballot— No. 1 Issue £24,600, No. 2 Issue £17,900, No. 3 £11,400, No. 4 £4,600, total, £58,500. By sale—No 1 £16,800, No. 2 £ll,lOO, No. 3 £lO,OOO, No. 4 £5,000; total, £42,900. The three retiring directors are Messrs. M. Johnson, W. Hart, and T. Styles. Messrs. M. Johnson, T. Styles again offer their services, together with Mr. J D. Donovan, who, as no further nominations were received, will be elected to fill the vacancies on the Board of Directors.
