ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association). George Norton, a married man aged 23, was knocked down by a motor car in Great North road, Auckland, yesterday. He sustained a fracture of the skull and died in hospital two hours later. John O’Shea, of Ashburton Forks, Canterbury, slipped when crossing the water channel in Burnett street yesterday afternoon striking his head against the bumper of a car standing alongside. He was admitted to hospital in an unconscious condition and died last evening. Mr O’Shea, who was 80 years of age, was one of the oldest residents of the Forks district. He leaves a widow who has been an invalid for many years, and one son and two daughters.
