Cosgrave Faces Defeat

Reports from Dublin state that Captain Redmond’s National League Party of seven members this afternoon decided to support Labour, and when a division is taken it seems probable that the Government will he defeated. The newspapers state that Mr Cosgraves Administration will, in this event, be succeeded bv a coalition composed of Labour and the National League which would have the support of de Valera’s party. Mr Cosgrave has displayed a magnanimous attitude towards the new opposition. In an interview he stated: “I am very pleased that the Fianna Fail deputies are coming into the Dail. It is the best thing that has hapuened during the last five years.” Captain Redmond said the action de Valera and his party in taking the oath was an immense gain to the cause of constitutionalism. ‘ATMOSPHERE WAS NORMAL.” (Received 13, 8.55 a.m.) London, Aug. 12.
