Department of A;-,. reports indicate that the ph. . . ion of all wheat is estimated ai 651,145,000 bushels compared with 833,000,000 "bushels for 1826. The condition of spring wheat on August 1 was 87.4 per cent of the normal, indicating a production of 298,378,000 bushels compared-Kith 205,000,000 bushels last season. The preliminary production of winter wheat is estimated at 552,767,000 bushels compared with 627,009 000 bushels harvested in 1926. The quality of winter wheat was 88.5 per cent, and the average yield per acre 14 bushels.
A market improvement in crop prospects occurred in July chiefly as a result of a more evenly distributed rainfall.—(A. and N.Z.)
