SERVICE CAR LICENSES.
AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS URGED. ONE FEE ONLY. (Special to “Tribune.”) Wellington, Aug. 12. Mr. John Mason (Napier) askcu the Minister of Public Works whether he will, in view of* the decisio’n in the recent case of Hodson v. the Stratford Borough Council, amend the regulations under the Motor Omnibus Traffic Act so that owners of service cars plying for hire on a recognised route will be required to pay one license fee only. Under the decision in the above case, says Mr. Mason, a service car running between Napier and Wellington would be required to pay not less than 1.4 separate license fees, in addition to paying heavy traffic license fees.
