CROQUET.
KIA TOA CLUB SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The Kia Toa Croquet Club held a very successful dance and 500 card tourney in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Wednesday night, there being about 80 couples present. Mrs Dunn, of Havelock North, supplied exceljent music for the dance, which comprised modern and old-time dances, and a very jolly evening was spent bv all. Messrs Bennispn. Lincoln Wallace and McArthur acted as M.C.’s for the dancing. The card room was controlled by Mr T. Williams and the prizes were won bv:—Ladies: Mrs Popplewell 1. Mrs Michaelson 2. Mrs Henderson 3. Mr Ballard annexed the first prize for gentlemen. Mr Smith being second. Mr Andersoii third.
The joint secretaries. Mesdames Shattkv and Lincoln, and their committee. are to be congratulated on their efforts, and the club’s funds will be considerably swelled bv the profits.
