MAXIMUM PENALTY.
FOR CONVERSION OF A CAR SIX MONTHS FOR THEFT. Wellington, Aug. 10. Frederick Hunt Hardgraves, a labourer, agde 28, to-dav admitted the conversion of a motor car worth £350, the theft of a suitcase and its contents, valued at £lB, from the car and not being in possession of a driver’s license. The accused had taken the car three days before and was followed by a constable in a taxi and arrested.
Mr. E. Page. 5.M.,. imposed the maximum penalty of three months for conversion and gave him six months for theft, the terms to be concurrent.
