THE LABOUR DAY DATE.
M.P.s APPROVE MINISTER S ACTION. Wellington, Aug. 9. It is stated that in view of the position that has arisen with regard to the permit to the Waikato Hunt Club to race on Labour Day, the majority of the members of the Lower House will take the opportunity on Sir George Hunter’s Gaming Amendment Bill to indicate that they do not approve of the attitude of the Racing Conference. The Minister’s decision with regard to the permit is approved by the majority of members in a letter jointly signed, which has been sent to the Minister.
